Amarillo Area McDonald's is proud to partner with the Sod Poodles for the Reading With RUCKUS program to promote reading with students. The program is set up just like a baseball game; there are 9 innings, which represent 9 books for students to read. Students in the program are encouraged to read books on their grade reading level, and for each completed book, students will receive a prize from an inning sponsor. Amarillo Area McDonald's is the 8th inning sponsor, which means the kids get a free McDonald's meal once they complete their 8th book! Once a student reads all 9 books, he or she will receive a free ticket to an Amarillo Sod Poodles baseball game! Bookmarks are also provided to every student in the program and each participating classroom has a poster to keep track of the student's reading progress.
